Anthony Nicoletti Selected as 2012 Sisson Scholarship Winner
In Association with the East End Arts School
(RIVERHEAD, NY, July 13, 2012) – The East End Arts School is pleased to announce that Anthony Nicoletti of Bellport, a student of the East End Arts School’s music program, is the award recipient of the Paul Sisson Memorial Fund’s 2012 music scholarship. This is the tenth year that an East End Arts School music student has been awarded a scholarship through the generous support of the Friends of Riverhead Free Library. The Paul Sisson Memorial Fund was created by the Friends of the Library in memory of Mr. Paul Sisson, a lover of classical music and driving force in the development of the Library’s Piano Plus Concert Series.
This year’s talented recipient, Anthony Nicoletti, is currently a senior at Bellport High School. His interests include practicing, playing and performing on the piano; dancing as captain of the Hip Hop/Step Squad team; and sports, particularly soccer, wrestling and track. Anthony has been accepted to Five Towns College for September of 2012. His future plan is to attain a PhD in Music Education and a minor in Performance, Composition and Songwriting. Music has always been a part of Anthony’s life. At twelve, he started lessons, and from then on piano was his passion. It wasn't until he started studying piano at the East End Arts School that his talent really started to advance and mature. He owes everything to his two very special teachers: Heidi Lewin, his first teacher; and Andrea Modugno his current teacher. They are a big reason he chose teaching as a career, and they have helped him to develop his skill and love for the piano.
The East End Arts School has 200 students each semester studying voice, piano, drums, violin, guitar and orchestral instruments, as well as music composition and recording. Currently, the School is able to provide scholarships for many deserving students, but many more are on a waiting list. For more information about the East End Arts School’s music program, or how to contribute to the East End Arts School’s Music Scholarship fund, please contact the East End Arts School: 631-369-2171, or visit www.eastendarts.org to learn more.
