Easter Brunch on Long Island

Expect this coming weekend to be busy for many Long Island restaurants. It’s the mark of Easter Sunday. Many Long Island restaurants will be featuring Easter brunch menus with seatings suitable for church-goers as well as the non-churchgoers.
- HONU Kitchen & Cocktails: Located in Huntington, it features a long bar and food packed with culinary punch. It offers a casual fare combined with sophistication from its mahogany chairs and crystal chandeliers. Its special Easter brunch menu runs from noon – 4pm on Sunday, April 8. The menu will feature Maine lobster benedict with sautéed spinach and home fries ($18), Southwestern eggs benedict with country ham, ancho chili hollandaise and home fries ($14), blueberry cream cheese french toast with fresh fruit ($13), baby spinach and goat cheese omelet with home fries ($13), shrimp asparagus gruyere cheese omelet with home fries ($14), homemade granola and vanilla yogurt with fresh berries ($11) and Sonoma chicken salad croissant with apples, cranberries, almonds and fresh fruit salad ($14). Its regular menu will also be available from noon – 9pm. Book your reservation by calling 631-421-6900.
- Antonette’s Italian Restaurant: Located in Bellmore, it is a charming classic Italian restaurant. Select its Spring buffet menu for $19.95 per person ($9.95 for children) or enjoy its special Easter brunch menu featuring lobster bisque ($9.95) for soup, baby mesclun greens with oranges, red and green apples in a balsamic reduction ($9.95) for salad, seafood salad with calamari, shrimp, pulpo, roasted red peppers and celery in an extra virgin olive oil ($12.95) for appetizer, homemade black squid ink linguine served over asparagus, manila clams and scallops in a white truffle reduction ($24.95) for pasta, chicken rollatini ($21.95), roasted lamb served over shitake mushrooms and mashed potatoes in a Barolo wine sauce ($24.95), lamb ossobucco in a vegetable reduction ($22.95), baby New Zealand rack of lamb encrusted with bread crumbs served in a brown gravy sauce ($36.95) or rabbit served in an orange puree sauce ($22.95) for entrée.
