(RIVERHEAD, NY, July 13, 2012) – East End Arts is thrilled to announce that on Wednesday, July 11, 26 East End string students ages 8 through 14 studying violin, viola and cello gathered for the first rehearsal in a series of three to prepare for an Open Rehearsal opportunity to work under the baton of Maestro Itzhak Perlman later this month. East End Arts Education Director Steve Watson along with EEA School alumni worked with students at the first rehearsal, which was held at the East End Arts Carriage House in Riverhead. East End Arts recently announced this collaborative project with the Perlman Music Program, and after an open call, assembled a group of East End string players, dubbed the East End Arts Student Orchestra, to participate in this opportunity to rehearse with the internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso and conductor.
