One of the places that America continues to struggle with where her loyalties lie is within early childhood education. The elementary schools around the country are full of children just ready to soak in all of the knowledge that they can. However, the current fiscal crisis is taking its toll on the educational system. This issue has come to the forefront and Exploring Critical Issues, the broadcast series conceived and hosted by Adelphi University President Robert A. Scott, examines views on early childhood education in a segment airing regularly over a two-week period in early 2013. The hour show will have its first airdate on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 10:30 p.m.
Dr. Scott said recently about the show, “I am fortunate to again attract leading experts for our program. Our discussion on early childhood education questions why our nation’s enrollment in preschool programs is among the lowest among advanced nations. Why our 15-year-olds place 26th out of 38 countries on international tests of mathematical literacy. And how it is that although the first nation to understand the value of college education, we are now in the middle of the pack in college graduation rates.”
The show, “Early Childhood Education”, will air in New York and Connecticut on Cablevision 29 and 137, FiOS 296, and streaming simultaneously at www.telecaretv.org . The dates for the broadcast will be Sunday, January 27 and February 3 at 10:00 PM, Sunday February 3 and February 10 at 7:00 AM, Wednesday, January 30 and February 6 at 10:30 PM, and Thursdays, January 31 and February 7 at 1:30 PM.
