East End Arts Presents
Dan Welden Printing Demonstration:
Friday, April 27
(RIVERHEAD, NY, April 16, 2012) –– East End Arts is thrilled to announce that master printmaker, painter, teacher and author Dan Welden will be conducting a public demonstration of his working process on Friday, April 27 from 10 AM to 5 PM at East End Arts’ Carriage House, located behind the East End Arts Gallery, 133 East Main Street, Riverhead NY. This event is a rare opportunity to meet and observe Dan Welden as he works and describes the process of his art. This free event is open to the public. Dan Welden is the originator of a printmaking technique called the Solarplate method, and is an innovator at the forefront of the alternative health- and safety- oriented movement of printmaking. During his 40-year career as an artist and master printmaker, he has shown his work in more than 70 solo exhibits and over 500 group exhibitions across the United States and abroad. Dan Welden continues to inspire artists, teachers and students around the world in workshops where he demonstrates how to make Solarplates, and print both intaglio and relief plates. As an original pioneer of safer and greener methods, he has been in the forefront of printmaking without the use of acids or other dangerous chemicals.
