Cyber Monday Special Offered by DEC to Campers

While most of us are probably thinking about hitting the department stores or sitting at home surfing the shops online on our computers on Cyber Monday, those who want to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of nature can take advantage of a great deal being offered by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the New York Office of Parks, and the Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks).  Of course, it is a bit cold for camping now, but this is a deal which extends into summer of next year.  Anyone who wants to book a two-night minimum stay in a participating New York state park may receive a $25 camping gift card as a bonus.

There are more than 15,000 campsites throughout New York, both on Long Island and upstate in the Adirondacks and Catskills.  If you book on Cyber Monday, you can place an eligible reservation anytime through Labor Day on 2014.  That means you can plan to camp next year, and take advantage of the bonus just by reserving ahead.  This is a great way to ensure that you’ll have space when the busy season approaches, and you can enjoy a great discount!
