It is rare today to find anyone who has not been touched by the scourge of breast cancer. Many women today undergo this battle from all areas of the world. ClearVision is taking this October - the official Breast Cancer Awareness month - to help with the fight and raise awareness throughout Long Island.
Throughout the month of October the eyewear industry leader ClearVision Optical will team up with its employees to “Think Pink” in an effort to raise awareness and support the global fight against breast cancer. The company has always had a philosophy of treating others as you would be treated, ClearVision is calling upon its employees to help others when it is needed. Whether it is a helping hand, or going th extra mile to help someone in trouble, ClearVision is making October pink. Also, the "Think Pink" initiviative will consist of several fundraising opportunities and special events.
Jennifer Trakhtenberg, ClearVision’s Senior Talent Leader said, “The fight against breast cancer is a cause we passionately support year round. It hits close to home for us not only because of the high number of breast cancer cases on Long Island, but because we are a predominantly female-employed company. I don’t know of many other small businesses on Long Island that do as much as we do to support the cause.”
All month long ClearView will be matching all employee donations in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. But, that is not all. The company also plans to take up other fundraising opportunities such as;
Pink Penny Jar – Employees are encouraged to donate spare change through the end of October
Pink Ribbon Pin Sales – Available for sale all month long. The small cost of these pins adds up quickly.
Self-Exam Cards – Available all month. ClearVision prides itself on its employee health and wellness programs, and the Self-Exam Cards are an important piece of information everyone should have.
Events are also scheduled throughout October. These include several dates such as;
October 11, 2012: ClearVision will hold its annual employee sunglass sale as part of the World Site Day Challenge. All proceeds are donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure plus they will be equally matched by ClearVision.
October 21, 2012: Employees are encouraged to take part in the 2012 American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach. During the walk the employees will be wearing specially designed ClearVision pink t-shirts.
October 24, 2012: ClearVision Think Pink Spirit Day kicks off with a brunch of pink-a-licious waffles. Employees are asked to wear pink, make donations and purchases, pick up a self-exam card and enjoy themselves!
ClearVision is helping to blaze a trail through this journey of breast cancer for millions of women around the country. They are asking for help from those in Long Island to help with the cause.
