On Sunday, March 2nd, the 3rd Annual Chocolate World Expo will be held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City on Long Island. Chocolate World Expo (CWE) offers visitors the chance to taste a range of delicious gourmet treats for a modest admission fee. Admission also pays for access to the museum, and as a bonus, includes free entrance to the Nassau County Fire Fighters Museum. Guests at the event will not only be able to enjoy baked goods, chocolate treats, and wines, but will also be able to enjoy all the exhibits at the aviation museum and fire fighters museum.
At the expo, Long Island Cares will be running a food drive for the needy. The nonprofit requests that attendees to CWE bring with them two or more non-perishable food items to donate to the food drive. Upon arriving at the event, attendees will be able to drop off their food items at the Long Island Cares truck just outside. At previous CWE events, attendees provided 1,840 meals through food and monetary contributions. Attendees will also be able to purchase Harry Chapin CDs and t-shirts at the event and ask questions about the food bank’s services.
Tickets to CWE will cost $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 2-12. Long Island Cares operates the Harry Chapin Food Bank, which is the oldest food bank on Long Island. Since 1980, the food bank has been providing meals to needy Long Islanders who have no other means of support.
