The John and Janet Kornreich Charitable Foundation has just donated $150,000 to the Long Island Children’s museum. The museum operates a number of different exhibits and educational programs on a regular basis, and provides special services to families in need. There is always something new going on at the museum, making it a popular family destination for residents of Suffolk and Nassau counties. Activities for children are both fun and informative and teach children about art, science, and other subjects. Museum officials have stated that they will be able to use the money provided through the grant to provide more educational outreach programs to local families over the next three years.
“The foundation’s long-standing support of the museum speaks volumes about their commitment to Long Island and their desire to ensure that all children in our community have access to the range of enrichment experiences offered through LICM’s interactive exhibits and dynamic workshops and performances,” stated Suzanne LeBlanc, president of the Long Island Children’s Museum. Local school districts including Hempstead, Westbury, and Uniondale will also benefit from the grant, as will the Bethany House in Roosevelt, Sunrise Day Camp in Wynandanch, and several other local programs and facilities.
