The August Inside Showcases will feature photographs of the annual Street Garden Competition winners chosen by the Bay Shore Beautification Society.  The Outside showcase will feature works created by members of the Long Island Professional Sculptors and Supporters (LIPSS).  The Gallery will feature artist Christopher Novelli’s work.

August 6^th through August 27^th – Tuesdays from 1 to 3 PM – Duplicate Bridge – There is no charge for this program.  Come to the Library and enjoy a game of Duplicate Bridge with other players.  Enrollment is limited to 16. 

Wednesday Afternoon At The Movies – 2:30 PM – The movie to be shown on August 7^th is Lincoln and on August 14^th Django Unchained.

Wednesday August 14^th at 7:00 PM – Fireside Book Discussion Group – The book to be discussed is The Alienist by Caleb Carr.  Mary Beth Wilson will lead this discussion.  Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.

August 14^th – Wednesday at 7:15 PM – The Goodman Memorial Film Series presents Salmon Fishing in the Yemen a 2011 film.

COMPUTER CLASSES:

August 8^th – Thursday from 7 to 9 PM – Introduction to Microsoft Word.  Learn the basics of word processing including creating a document, saving, editing, formatting and much more.  Prerequisites: Computer Kindergarten and Computer 1^st Grade or equivalent required.  Pre-registration is required.  There is a $10.00 non-refundable fee for this class.

August 15^th – Thursday from 7 to 9 PM – Intermediate Microsoft Word.  Learn more about the world’s most popular word processing program, including formatting, columns and tables and much more.  Prerequisites: computer Kindergarten, computer 1^st Grade and Introduction to Microsoft Word or equivalent required.  Pre-registration is required.  There is a $10.00 non-refundable fee for this class.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Magic Carpet Storytime –

Ongoing through August 14^th - Wednesday s from 10:30 to 11:15 AM – This summertime community favorite returns for all to enjoy.  There will be stories, finger plays and songs to brighten a summer day for all.
