Grand Opening Fundraiser to Benefit Nassau County Firefighter Burn Center
Syosset, NY…January 28, 2013…Bounce! Trampoline Sports, an exciting new concept in recreation, fitness and fun will be celebrating the Grand Opening of its second facility in the New York region when it opens its doors in Syosset this March. In conjunction with its Grand Opening, Bounce! will be conducting a “Bounce for Burns” fundraiser for the Nassau County Firefighter Burn Center Fund, which supports the burn treatment facility at the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. This burn treatment center is widely recognized as one of the best staffed and most technologically sophisticated facilities in the United States.
The Bounce! grand opening will offer patrons a chance to participate in this irresistible recreational experience with proceeds to benefit the Nassau County Firefighter Burn Center Fund. Those wishing to participate can find more information on the Bounce! website www.bounceonit.com
Serious burns are among the most life-threatening and hard-to-treat medical emergencies. Thanks in part to the generosity of the Nassau County Firefighter Burn Center Fund; Nassau University Medical Center is home to a $6.7 million burn center staffed by specialized medical professionals that includes a four-bed critical care unit and a six-bed unit for acute care. On average the center treats 200 burn victims per year as inpatients, and 1000 as outpatients. Many of those treated are children.
“We are beyond thrilled to bring Bounce! to Long Island and equally excited to be able to support the Firefighter Burn Center. With this grand opening fundraiser, we have the potential to make a considerable donation,” declared Danny Fried, co-creator of Bounce!
Bounce! Trampoline Sports offers Long Islanders an unprecedented opportunity to safely play, have fun and get fit on spacious courts of interconnected trampolines. Cleanliness and safety are the top considerations at Bounce! “Our pledge is to keep the facility immaculate, safe and scrupulously maintained so that every day it looks like it just opened for business,” says Fried. He adds that research shows that supervised jumping on trampolines is one of the best physical workouts ever devised; it has been proven to tone muscles, burn fat and reduce stress.
Bounce! will offer fitness classes for all ages and levels, open jump time, trampoline dodgeball, slam dunk basketball, foam pit jumping and both individual and group trampoline training classes taught by qualified instructors. At the Rockland facility, a “Have Fun and Get Fit” program for overweight and/or physically inactive youngsters that registered 25 participants for its first session has been enormously successful, motivating the kids to exercise and establish overall healthier eating and activity habits. “Inspired by Michele Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative,” explains Fried, “we developed an 8-week program that incorporates structured exercise, nutritional counseling and group play and competition. The parents and kids both love the program. The moms say that it’s so much fun the kids don’t think of it as exercise!”
The unique complex has private party rooms for birthdays and corporate team building, a Wi-Fi lounge, a healthy-foods snack bar and a sports-oriented arcade. There is also a separate Bounce! Jr. Zone where kids ages 7 and under can bounce on their own trampolines, jump into a separate foam pit or play on giant inflatable obstacles courses. Bounce! has been built from start to finish to meet all ASTM International Standards of safety.

BACKGROUND
After 25 years at the apex of Manhattan’s nightclub scene, China Club co-founder Danny Fried has found a new calling in the burgeoning field of indoor sports and fitness. Aptly named Bounce!, Fried’s enormous action–sports complex, consisting primarily of wall to wall trampoline courts, will offer patrons of all ages the opportunity to jump, play sports and get fit. Close supervision and instruction by qualified instructors ensures a fun, safe environment.
“What makes these courts unique,” says Fried, “is the ability to not only bounce off the floors but off the walls as well. Jumping on a trampoline is a fun, healthy and invigorating workout that can burn up to a thousand calories in an hour. What’s more, since the year 2000, trampoline has become an official Olympic sport, it has drawn more and more fans every day.”
According to Fried, the use of trampolines has forever changed the nature of several sports. “Dodgeball and basketball have been completely reinvented. At our Rockland location kids and adults line up day and night to play Trampoline Dodgeball. And just imagine the excitement they must feel when suddenly then can slam dunk a basketball like Michael Jordan!”
Before fun comes safety, and from start to finish, Bounce! was built to exceed all ASTM International Standards of safety. Each court is carefully supervised by courtside referees and monitored by high def video camera.
In addition to recreational jumping, the facility will host sport leagues, trampoline-aerobics classes, acrobatic training and corporate team-building events. Birthday parties will take on a whole new level of fun and fitness at Bounce! offering open jump/dodgeball/basketball/bungee and other activities followed by refreshments in spacious private party rooms. Bounce! will also house a sports-oriented arcade, a healthy-food snack bar, aWi-Fi/television lounge, and a separate trampoline and inflatable zone for kids ages two through six.
The first Bounce! facility opened in Rockland County in November 2011 and from inception was a phenomenal success drawing families from throughout the tri-state area as well as camps, schools and other community organizations. Bounce! will offer many job opportunities to the local community, particularly for athletically inclined college and high school students, aerobic instructors, gymnasts and general computer savvy personnel.
