Chuck E. Cheese’s is a favorite spot for birthday parties for many children on Long Island. At a Commack location during just such a birthday party, a bystander caught a video which is circulating the internet of a full-on brawl between two women, apparently over a stolen pocketbook.
In the video, two women have a fistfight while “Happy Birthday” plays over the restaurant’s speakers in the backdrop. Another woman yells at the two women having the fight, telling them there are children nearby. Incidentally, the woman who threw the first punch did so while carrying an infant in her arms. A bystander grabs the infant and takes it away from the woman before more fighting ensues. Even a child attempts to break up the fight, trying to drag away a grown woman. Employees and bystanders then intervene to try and break up the fight, before police are called in.
Police are still investigating the incident, and so far there is no comment as to whether the mother fighting with the infant will be held accountable for endangering her child. So much for family fun at Chuck E. Cheese’s, although the incident has been plenty of fun for viewers online. The story is making headlines around the globe, even appearing in the UK Daily Mail.
