Those Who Order Before September 9 Receive $20 Off, Three Free Meals
In celebration of Rosh Hashanah, Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers is offering its customers on Long Island and in Queens County dinner for 10 for the price of $339.99. Those who place their orders before September 9 will pay only $319.99 — a $20 savings — and receive three Ben’s Friends on-card buy-one-get-one-free meal coupons.
The dinner package comes with 12 mini-stuffed cabbage and a choice of one other appetizer; four quarts of chicken noodle soup with 12 matzo balls; an entrée choice of roast chicken, turkey or sliced brisket; cranberry-pineapple compote, cole slaw, carrot tsimmes and round challah; choice of two sides; and fresh-baked Rugalach. (A fruit salad bowl is also available for an additional $29.99.)
This catering package is ideal for customers who wish to hold up the tradition of family gatherings during holiday meals. This tradition began when eastern European Jewish immigrants came to the United States between the early 1900s and the 1940s. Today, with more families who do not have the time to prepare a holiday meal because of their hectic work and life schedules, they are turning to Kosher caterers to help keep the tradition alive.
“There was a time that, after the synagogue and the local Jewish community center, the Kosher deli was a meeting place for many Jewish families who would see each other during the week when they were either taking food home or dining in a restaurant,” said Ronnie Dragoon, Founder/Owner, Ben’s Deli. “During the holidays, people would remember large family gatherings which are fewer now as many offspring of the immigrants — first- and second-generation Jewish Americans — move to other parts of the United States, ensuring the importance of these holiday meals.”
For Rosh Hashanah, Ben’s will be closed on September 16 at 4 p.m. and will reopen September 19. During Yom Kippur, Ben’s will close on September 25 at 4 p.m. and open again on September 27.
