This weekend in Lindenhurst is a great time of not only enjoying the company of many community people, but to be a part of giving back to a worthy cause. On Saturday, February 23rd, there will be a benefit event for Lindenhurt native, Justin Marino, at the Fireman's Pavillion Park in Lindenhurst.
Justin Marino is 22 years old and graduated from the Lindenhurst High School. He was an avid football player as a young child and in his high school days. He attended Suffolk Community College for a while and decided that he wanted to go into computer gaming design and animation.
In September of 2012 he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and was told he was 3C (which is the highest form of the disease.) The cancer has spread to his lymph nodes in his back and in his lungs.
In an effort to ease the financial burden of mounting medical bills and needs, Justin’s friends and family are holding this benefit in his honor. Justin hopes to return to his schooling for his computer career and have a family of his own someday. This is a tremendous event and great opportunity for those in the community, and around Long Island, to help this family.
The tickets are a $25.00 donation which can be purchased at the Canyon of Heroes Sports Bar and Grill (168 Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst, NY) or at the door event. Your generous donation gets you a hot buffet with unlmited beer and live music.
