When it comes to Easter, many communities around Long Island hold special events and festivities to celebrate this season. Not only is it spring, but it is also a time of religious reflection and a time for families to get together. One of the biggest events during Easter weekend is an Easter egg hunt. Many families come together to hide little eggs for their children to find. However, Babylon has other plans.
While there are other Long Island Easter egg hunts going on throughout this weekend and next, Lindenhurst makes it a major event that is fun for the entire family. Head to Belmont Lake State Park on Saturday for the 20th Annual Spring Egg Hunt, which begins at 12:15 p.m. In addition to the hunt, there'll be a petting zoo, temporary tattoos, pony rides, environmental crafts, a visit by the Spring Bunny and more.
If that is not enough, then you can also hunt for eggs at Phelps Lane Park in North Babylon as a part of the town's Spring Eggstravaganza. This is also on Satruday at 12 p.m. For other festivities kids can enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo and face painting.
If hunting for eggs is something that you're looking forward to you can get things started this weekend in Babylon.
