Gene Kurzrok and John Levitt of AXA Equitable recently presented Nancy Mariano, Regional Director of Friends of Karen, with a check for $2,500 for their involvement in an AXA Day of Service, a national volunteer program in which AXA employees spend time and dedication helping not-for-profits in their communities.
The day of service underscores AXA’s ongoing commitment to Friends of Karen, an organization that provides emotional, financial and advocacy support to families with a child diagnosed with cancer or another life-threatening illness.
“We are so grateful for the generosity, energy and commitment that AXA employees have shared with us,” said Mariano. “To be able to partner with Friends of Karen and spread our mission with others is such a special opportunity and benefits not only our families but our larger communities as well.”
Friends of Karen, with offices in Port Jefferson, Manhattan and Westchester, New York, assisted 1,308 children with services in 2011 alone.
