The Uniformed Fire Officers Association (UFOA) announced its endorsement of Michaelle Solages (D-Elmont) for State Assembly in the 22ndDistrict.
“Michaelle Solages understands the risks our hardworking firefighters face day in and day out to protect our families,” said Al Hagan, President of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association. “She has the full support of the UFOA because we believe that with Michaelle as our Assemblywoman, we will have a strong voice in Albany who will stand behind us no matter what.”
The UFOA represents over 2,500 active members and over 4,500 retired lieutenants, captains, battalion chiefs, deputy chiefs, supervising fire marshals and medical officers.
“I’m incredibly honored to receive the endorsement of the UFOA,” Michaelle Solages said. “These brave men and women make great sacrifices to keep our community safe and make sure our families are well protected. I’ll work to make sure their voices are heard and they have the resources they need to keep them safe on the job.”
In addition to fighting for men and women firefighters, Solages will fight to bring more jobs to the area, provide tax relief to Nassau families and work to eliminate unfunded mandates that drive up property taxes. She’ll also bring more state aid to Hempstead and Nassau to improve schools and reduce the burden on local taxpayers.
Solages also received endorsements from the Nassau County PBA, the Nassau County Superior Officers Association, the Nassau County Detectives Association, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Correction Officers Benevolent Association and the Court Officers Benevolent Association of Nassau County.
