Arts Mean Business Forum on September 20

Featured Speakers Include Emily Peck from Americans for the Arts,

Bob Spiotto from Suffolk Theater, Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter, and More

 (RIVERHEAD, NY, August 16, 2012) - East End Arts is pleased to announce an arts and business forum to be held at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead entitled Arts Mean Business on Thursday, September 20, from 9 AM until 1 PM. East End Arts invites business owners, artists, local government, arts organizations, community leaders, nonprofit organizations, and community members to this arts and business forum withkeynote presentation and panel discussion by notable arts and business leaders demonstrating the value of partnering with the arts to strengthen the economic vitality of Long Island. Continental breakfast and lunch will be served. The Suffolk Theater is located at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead, NY. The keynote speaker will be Emily Peck from Americans for the Arts and the pARTnership Movement, an initiative from Americans for the Arts to reach business leaders with the message that partnering with the arts can build their competitive advantage. Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. Additional speakers include Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter; David Winzelberg, Long Island Business News; Eric Alexander, Vision Long Island; Rob Salvatico, Hotel Indigo; Elaine Thompson, Golf Series Art;Bob Spiotto, Suffolk Theater; and Michelle Isabelle Stark, Suffolk County Economic Development.

Attendees will walk away with ideas for incorporating the arts, an understanding of the potential economic benefits of working with the arts community, and the knowledge of proven examples of revitalization through the arts.

Robert Lynch, President and CEO of Americans for the Arts was quoted as saying "Understanding and acknowledging the incredible economic impact of the nonprofit arts and culture industry, we must always remember their fundamental value.
