ArtHamptons will open it’s doors to throngs of art enthusiasts around the world. ArtHamptons has blossomed into the nation’s premiere summer fine art fair bringing in talent from all over the world and will run through Sunday evening the 14th at The Sculpture Fields of Nova’s Art on Millstone Road in Bridgehampton, New York.
Among those artists attending to show their work is internationally known glass artist Marlene Rose. Marlene grew up in Oyster Bay, discovered the art of sandcasting glass during college at Tulane University and now is considered the top sandcast glass artist in America. Marlene’s works can be seen in numerous museums and galleries around the world and her sculptures are collected by fine-art collectors and Hollywood A-list celebrities alike.
For those not familiar with sandcast glass, it is a thousands year old metal casting technique that was only incorporated using glass in the past several decades. 2000 degree molten glass is sculpted to create these one of a kind works of art. Marlene Rose is one of the few women in this very physical field which has been traditionally male dominated.
