The Nancy & Frederick DeMatteis Arts Education program at the newly refurbished, not-for-profit Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center presents An Evening of One-Act Plays - “Drop Dead Juliet” and “All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play” - on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 at 7pm. All tickets are $15.
Teen Theatre Project is the cornerstone of WHBPAC’s unique and innovative Teen Theatre Program. Teen actors, ages 12 and up, rehearsed weekly for ten weeks. Then, over the school break in March, the cast met daily for an intensive rehearsal process culminating in An Evening of One-Act Plays.
“While we run many high-quality arts education programs throughout the year, without a doubt, the Teen Theatre Project ranks among my favorites,” says Arts Education Program Manager and Director of March’s production, Julienne Penza. “Engaging adolescents is one of the major components of our mission, and we truly accomplish that in these eleven weeks, as our students learn and grow so much as we work toward performance. I set the bar high for my young actors, and they always rise to the occasion – this performance of these two uproarious comedies is going to be one to remember!”
