One of the ways that businesses can continue to be a part of their community is to continually give back to their respective communities. Sometimes the causes are much larger than themselves. This is the case with American Roland Food Corporation and their recent donation to Long Island Cares in their Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
The donation comes in the form of 620 cases (approximately 22,000 servings) of canned tropical fruit. Many of Roland Foods’ employees and partners in the Metro New York area were hit hard by the storm and this donation, in addition to a previous donation to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey immediately after the storm, is part of an effort to give back to the communities that support Roland branded products all year long and to aid in the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. By having these ties in the area Roland continues to be a part of the community through this effort and continued commitment to helping those in need.
The company is very active in donating food to charitable organizations throughout the year. As a food company, you would not expect anything else. But, it is not how much they give that is the important aspect, it is their willingness to continue giving and helping in the wake of such tragedies.
