What: Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center, Inc. (ADRC) is presenting its 10th Annual Old Bethpage Walk for Alzheimer’s & Mexican Fiesta. There will be an opening ceremony with Mickey B, Radio Personality, WGBB Radio, as the Master of Ceremonies and live entertainment performed by the USO Liberty Bells. There will also be a dedication ceremony honoring those who perished in the September 11, 2001 attacks. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will follow to signify the start of the Walk.
Participants will walk through the grounds of Old Bethpage Village Restoration twice for a distance of 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) and have the opportunity to view the historically preserved buildings. After the Walk, those who raise $100 or more will enjoy Mexican food and live entertainment.
This year’s fundraising goal is $400,000. Last year, more than 1,500 people — including 218 teams — took part in the event, raising more than $409,000 for Alzheimer’s research, programs and services, exceeding the fundraising goal of $400,000.
