Roger Daisley will Bike 108 miles to Honor His Late Mother
On June 1st, Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center, Inc. (ADRC) Board Member, Roger Daisley will participate in the 16th Annual “Ride to Montauk.” A Bay Shore native, Mr. Daisley will bike from the Babylon train station to Montauk – a total of 108 miles. The event holds special meaning for Mr. Daisley, as his trek will help raise awareness and funds for the ADRC in honor of his mother, who recently passed away from complications associated with Alzheimer’s Disease and in honor of his mother-in-law who passed away with Alzheimer’s in 2002.
“I’ve been looking forward to this event for some time,” said Mr. Daisley. “The funds raised from my bike ride will provide valuable resources needed to support local research projects, as well as programs and services offered to local families through the ADRC.”
Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center – which is headquartered in Bay Shore and has a satellite office in Southampton – is the only truly local Alzheimer’s Disease advocacy and educational facility whose mission is to provide hands-on support and services to families on Long Island and the New York metropolitan area. ADRC works with family members, health care professionals and researchers to ensure quality health care and support to those impacted by Alzheimer’s Disease through care and consultation, information and referral, training, support groups, and caregiver safety products.
“We’re so pleased that Roger is going to participate in this event, both to honor his late mother and to support ADRC,” said Mary Ann Malack-Ragona, ADRC Executive Director/CEO. “His efforts will go a long way in helping us fulfill our mission of serving local families coping with this devastating diagnosis.”
