Bay Shore, NY — Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center, Inc. (ADRC) today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Cyra Com, LLC, a diversified language service company established in 1995. The company provides language services to over 2,000 healthcare clients.
“One of the greatest challenges we face as a health and human services provider is the inability to provide quality care due to a language barrier. In an effort to overcome that barrier, we have now given our staff members the ability to communicate in over 200 languages, bringing yet another valuable resource to our Alzheimer’s community,” states Mary Ann Malack-Ragona, ADRC’s Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer.
The Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center provides Care Consultation, Information & Referral, Education, Support Groups and a National Silver Alert® Program. ADRC’s continued mission is to support research that may lead to a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease; to provide care, support and education programs for families in need, and to be advocates for local families who are coping with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias.
The Center is staffed with a Social Worker and Program Specialists and houses the Mickey & Felice Neuwirth Care Center. The Center recently opened the Lillian & Mark Lane Alzheimer’s Disease Training Center and the Lois & Edward Zeidler Memorial Alzheimer’s Disease Research Library.
