There will probably be standing room only, but that shouldn't discourage anyone from going. The annual “Government Reports Breakfast,” sponsored by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce. This breakfast brings into the area of Huntington, the most influential of local, state, and federal leaders with some of the best businesspeople in Long Island. The purpose for this gathering is to go over the different activities of the government in the last year. The event will take place on Friday, October 26 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the Huntington Crescent Club, located at 15 Washington Drive, Huntington.
Much of the time is focused on the government activities, but a lot of this is dedicated to those important issues surrounding local Long Island businesses and industry. Those who attend these breakfasts all agree that they are generally worthwhile. This year's format goes away from the traditional one used in many breakfasts of this type. This year each elected official will be joining guests at their tables to bring a far more personal and candid discussion of the issues that affect our region. During the course of this dialogue, attendees will learn the important issues of concern, seek the input of all of our participants, and formulate some recommendations and potential solutions that our legislators can take back with them to Washington, Albany, Hauppauge and Huntington.
Each year the Chamber of Commerce is joined by a wide, broad, but very outstanding representation of those who live and work on Long Island. This, coupled with the legislative representation, gives a well balanced conversation into the the diversity of workplaces, gives respect the talents of our workforce, and embraces the uniqueness of Long Island.
Seating is limited and is reserved for the first 150 individuals with tickets. These tickets cost $45 for Huntington Chamber members and $60 for non-members. Tables will be reserved in advance and the local officials will each spend approximately 5 minutes at each table as they rotate from table to table to meet each patron in attendance.
