Four Saturdays throughout the summer: July 14th, July 28th, August 11th, and August 25th, 10am-Noon
Southeast Corner of Ocean Road and Hildreth Ave., Bridgehampton
The Bridgehampton Historical Society is honored to be the key-holders of the historic Beebe Windmill. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as well as a Southampton Town designated landmark, residents and visitors can tour this beautifully preserved structure four Saturdays throughout the summer and by appointment. The windmill is one of 11 that survive on Long Island, was built in 1820 for a retired whaling captain and shipbuilder, and has moved many times and had many owners. It now rests next to the historic Minden estate on Ocean Road built by John Berwind. Learn more about the windmill’s history and operation and take advantage of the unique opportunity to climb inside during a shady half hour on a summer day.
Open to the Public. Free Admission. For more information call 631-537-1088, visit www.bridgehamptonhistoricalsociety.org, or email bhhs@optonline.net.
