Entering it’s 40th year, the Cinema Arts Centre faces an extraordinary challenge. In addition to raising vital funds for programs and operations, CAC must also raise funds to equip three theaters with digital projection equipment.
In 2013, new motion pictures will no longer be produced and distributed on film. The Cinema Arts Centre must be prepared to present all American and foreign cinema in digital format by purchasing new projectors in all three theaters at a cost of $186,000. This means that CAC must more than double the goal of its annual appeal, the Vic Skolnick Life of the Cinema Campaign, and raise $220,000.
Named in memory of Co-Founder Vic Skolnick, who spoke so often about getting people more engaged in the Life of the Cinema, this campaign is a clear and direct way for members and supporters to have a meaningful impact on the Cinema and to ensure it’s future.
Fully tax-deductible contributions will allow us to continue to present high-quality film programs and special events, offer the Film Arts in Education program to thousands of public school students each year, and purchase the digital projection equipment needed to keep operating.
