Thousands Of Long Island Motorcyclists To Raise Funds For Sleep Away Camp For Kids With Cancer At 10th Annual New Year’s Day Cold Finger Run
LONG ISLAND, NY (December 21, 2012) – Thousands of Long Island motorcyclists will gather for the 10th Annual WBAB New Year’s Day Cold Finger Run, lead by WBAB Afternoon Host “Fingers”. This unique Long Island event is a benefit for the American Cancer Society’s “Camp Adventure” program providing a free sleep away camp for kids with cancer and their families.
The WBAB New Year’s Day Cold Finger Run takes participants on a 40-mile run from the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City to the Emporium in Patchogue, where riders will be treated to food, live music and raffle prizes.
Over the past decade, the WBAB New Year’s Day Cold Finger Run has raised nearly one hundred thousand dollars for Camp Adventure, a free sleep away camp for children undergoing cancer treatment and their siblings. Located on Shelter Island, Camp Adventure affords the opportunity for kids to enjoy the camp experience, while receiving care and medical treatment. The camp is run by volunteers and supported through donations from individuals and businesses.
