There is hardly anything better than going to a church function for some free food right? Well, how about going to get 5 days of free Italian food served in a fun and carnival style atmosphere. This is what you will discover whenever you are going to the 102nd Annual Feast of the Assumption. This feast is put on by the Maria SS. Dell’Assunta Society. It is held in Westbury, Long Island.
Festivities begin at 6 p.m. every night and last from the 15th to the 19th. There is no charge to the event and you are welcome to bring your whole family. The event is held nightly at the St. Brigid’s School Parking Field on Maple Avenue.
Those interested can attend the mass which is held on Wednesday August, 15th at 5 p.m. at St. Brigid’s Church (75 Post Ave., Westbury). A procession will leave from the church to go to the feast grounds up Post Avenue. Even if you do not attend the mass, you are still welcome to join in the procession and enjoy the celebration.
