1-800-Flowers is a nationwide florist, but their headquarters are located in Carle Place, which means that they were effected adversely by the harsh winter weather conditions currently sweeping across the east coast. The conditions have inconvenienced many businesspeople on Long Island, but they have been tragic for 1-800-Flowers. Unfortunately for the florist, the winter storms overlapped with Valentine’s Day, resulting in numerous orders being delayed or lost altogether in transit. Other orders were damaged, wilting because of the cold temperatures.
Angry customers have taken to social media channels, complaining that their orders either never arrived, or arrived in poor condition, even posting photos of wilted bouquets. 1-800-Flowers has a satisfaction guarantee on their website, stating that if customers ever have a problem, “We’ll jump to make it right—no matter what, no questions asked. We’re happy when you’re smiling.” The company has responded to complaints on its Facebook page, stating, “Due to the weather issues we experienced, wait times are longer than we would like. If you contact us to check on your order or have a question, we promise to respond as soon as possible.” Customers who still have not heard back from 1-800-Flowers are asked to call the florist directly or send them a message through Facebook.
